Swimming and Lap Pools

Swim laps outdoors in the lap pool or cool off in the resort-style pool, then take a long soak in the whirlpool spa. The aquatic area at Anza Athletic Club provides covered areas and lounges poolside.

Quail Creek has a swimming pool, hot tub and lap pool available for use by our residents. Pools are open between the hours of 5 AM to 9 PM daily.

  • Spa temperature is set at 103° +/- 1° F *
  • Recreational pool temperature is set at 86° +/- 1° F
  • Lap Pool temperature is set at 83° +/- 1° F

The Aquatics Exercise Association lists optimum swimming pool temperatures at 83° - 86° F.
 
YMCA of the USA lists optimum swimming pool temperatures at 82° - 85° F

* The spa temperature is in compliance with the state and county regulation in reference to the maximum safe temperature allowed.

Pool Access

A membership card is required for entry to the pool area. The pools are open during Anza Athletic Club hours. There is no gate key access.

Recreation Pool Daily Hours: 5 AM - 9:00 PM, no reservations required, guests over 18 years of age allowed at any time. See Member Services for information about guest passes. No key access, check-in at the desk, beginning at 5 AM.

Lap Pool Daily Hours: 5 AM - 9:00 PM, Reservations on the hour with the last reservation available at 6 PM, Lap Pool Reservations. After 7 PM, spots are first-come, first-served.
No key access, check-in at desk beginning at 5 AM.

Children

Children under the age of 18  must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No guest under the age of eighteen (18) is allowed in the lap pool or the whirlpool. Children who are not toilet trained are not allowed in any pools.

Daily Children's Hours: 11 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM to 6 PM daily. Children are defined as those under the age of 18 years of age. Please remember that toddlers must be toilet trained. Swim diapers are not allowed in the pool.

Children under the age of 18 must use the family restroom located in the pool area.  Children are not allowed in the locker room at any time.

Toys and Flotation Devices

Toys are not allowed in the pools. A single small flotation device per person is permitted, but large devices (such as rafts, chairs, and inner tubes) are not. Small children may wear arm flotation bands and/or flotation vests.

Beverages and Food

Alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not permitted. Food and dark beverages, e.g., grape juice, coffee, that may stain the pool deck are not permitted. 

Showering

Pima County Health Department requires all persons to shower prior to entering the pools and after applying lotion before reentering the water.

Swim Attire

Proper swimming attire is required.  Cutoffs, shorts, jeans, and diapers may not be worn in the pools; tee shirts over appropriate swimwear are permitted. Use of appropriate covering apparel to and from the pools is required. Pool shoes should only be used in the pool area.
